A familiar is an creature chosen by a spellcaster to help aide in their study of magic. It retains the normal stats it once had, but instead is counted as a Magical Beast. Animal Companions may not also function as Familiars.
A Familiar grants its owner special abilities, and these are active as long as the owner and Familiar are within one mile of each other. If another class grants you another familiar, these abilities do stack.
If a Familiar is Dismissed, Lost, or Dies, the owner may choose to undergo a ritual (costing 200gp per Spellcasting level) one week after they loose them. This ritual takes eight hours to complete.
|Baby Dodongo||Master gains a +1 natural armor bonus to AC.|
|Boe (Dark)||Master gains a +3 bonus to Stealth checks.|
|Bubble||Master gains a +3 bonus to Intimidate checks.|
|Chu||Master gains a +2 bonus to Reflex saves.|
|Cucco||Master gains a +3 to Fly checks.|
|Freezard (Mini)||Master gains a +2 bonus to Fortitude saves.|
|Ghoul Rat||Master gains a +3 bonus to sight based and opposition Perception checks in the dark.|
|Guay||Master gains a +3 bonus to Slight of Hand checks.|
|Keese||Master gains a +3 bonus to sight based and opposition Perception checks in the dark.|
|Leever||Master gains a +2 bonus to Initiative.|
|Morth||Master gains a +1 bonus to CMD.|
|Peahat Larva||Master gains a +3 bonus to Fly checks.|
In order to take any of the following Familiars, you must have and meet the prerequisites of the feat. Even beyond these requirements, you must meet the alignment and required level of the familiar. These familiars grant abilities and often have much more powerful statistics than the base familiars above.
